How to Use an AI Photo Prompt

1. Choose a photo you can use

Use a well-lit photo with a visible face. Upload your own photo or get permission from everyone pictured. Avoid identity documents and private or sensitive images.

2. Copy an original prompt

Open an effect in our free prompt library and select Copy prompt. The complete text is available without an account. Change clothing, colours or the background before you use it.

3. How to use an AI photo prompt with your reference

Choose a tool and model that explicitly supports reference-image editing. Upload your photo, paste the prompt and check the tool’s privacy and billing settings. Controls vary between providers; text-only models cannot perform a photo edit.

4. Review before sharing

Check the face, hands, clothing and background. AI can change details even when asked to preserve them. If you generate again, your chosen provider may charge for another attempt.

Example: change the background first

Original example: “Edit the authorized adult reference portrait. Keep recognizable facial features, skin tone, hairstyle and clothing. Replace only the background with a softly lit beige studio wall. Keep natural proportions and do not add text or other people.” This example is not a tested output guarantee. Start with one change so you can see what the tool preserved.

If the edit fails or changes too much

If you receive only a written answer, confirm that the selected model supports image editing and that the reference actually attached. If the result changes the face or outfit, reduce the requested changes and try a clearer, unfiltered reference. Check the external tool’s file limits and error message before retrying; another attempt may cost money.

Decide whether the result is usable

Compare the reference and output side by side. Inspect the face at full size, then the hands, jewelry and background. Reject images that misrepresent someone or imply an event that did not happen. Label synthetic edits when sharing. Our own generator is not open, so no photo needs to be uploaded on this website.
